Hampton Inn of Collinsville sued over guest's slip in hot tub

Malm

A Yorkville man has filed suit against the Collinsville hotel where he claims he was staying when he slipped on tile in a hot tub.

Robert Jackson claims he was staying at defendant Hampton Inn on May 30, 2010, when he slipped as he was trying to enter the hot tub.

Because of his fall, Jackson suffered injuries, according to the complaint filed May 30 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Hampton Inn allegedly negligently failed to provide a safe place for Jackson to stay, provided a dangerous hot tub that contained worn-out non-slip tile, failed to provide non-slip tile in the hot tub, failed to repair the hot tub and allowed the hot tub to remain in a dangerous condition, the suit states.

In his complaint, Jackson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

He will be represented by John J. Malm and Jason P. Schneider of John J. Malm and Associates in Naperville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-750.
