Rock Road accident in Granite City causes injuries, suit claims

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended a vehicle in which she was riding.

Jessica Mueller claims she was riding in a vehicle that was traveling west on Rock Road in Granite City on Feb. 10 at about 10:17 a.m. when defendant Adam Behrmann, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Mueller became sick, sore, lame, disabled and disfigured; suffered injuries to her back and neck; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. She also suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and endured a diminished earning capacity, the suit states.

Behrmann negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike the rear of the vehicle in which Mueller was riding, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast, followed the vehicle in which Mueller rode too closely and drove without adequate brakes, the complaint says.

Mueller is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

She will be represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-792.
