A Belleville woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims failed to obey a red light and struck her vehicle.
Sandra L. Becker claims she was driving north on Frank Scott Parkway West in St. Clair County on Jan. 13, 2012, when she attempted to proceed through its intersection with Dapron Drive. Suddenly, she was struck in the front by defendant Dorothy M. Triplett, who was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Dapron Drive, according to the complaint filed May 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the collision, Becker suffered severe injury and pain, lost wages, lost her enjoyment of life and experienced suffering and disability, the suit states.
Triplett negligently failed to reduce her speed to avoid the collision, failed to obey a red light, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to exercise reasonable care and failed to drive in her own lane, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Becker is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
Jarrod P. Beasley of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing her.
