Disability and disfigurement claimed in auto accident suit

A man claims he sustained disability and disfigurement after a driver struck his vehicle.

Frank Feichtinger filed a lawsuit April 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against Thomas Patton.

In his complaint, Feichtinger alleges he drove on Nameoki Road in Granite City on April 28, 2011, when Patton, who drove on the same road struck his vehicle.

In addition to his disability and disfigurement, Feichtinger claims he suffered great pain and mental anguish, lost earnings and incurred medical costs because of the collision. In addition, he sustained an impaired earning capacity, the suit states.

He blames Patton for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner so as to strike his vehicle, failed to properly apply his brakes, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision and failed to yield to Feichtinger's vehicle.

Feichtinger is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-505.
