Couple sues Long Street Bar over injuries

Two St. Clair County residents allege they sustained severe injuries after three people attacked them at a St. Clair County bar.

Candi M. Eaves and Brian Eaves filed a lawsuit April 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Long Street Bar and Grill, Caseyville Memorial Post 1117, St. Clair Bowl, Camelot Bowl, Cindy J. Davis, Stephen F. Wasser Jr. and Bryan G. Callahan.

The Eaves allege they were visiting Long Street Bar and Grill on April 5, 2011, when it sold beer to Davis, Wasser and Callahan, causing them to allegedly become intoxicated. As a result of their allegedly drunken state, Davis, Wasser and Callahan attacked the Eaves without provocation or justification, according to the complaint.

In addition to the pain they suffered because of the incident, the plaintiffs say they lost their enjoyment of life and have experienced pain, suffering and disability, the suit states.

In their 14-count complaint, the Eaveses seek a judgment of more than $700,000.

Matthew P. Young of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing them.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-171.
