Man injured in pipefitting job sues DCL Fabrication

A Missouri man is asking a fabrication company to pay more than $100,000 for injuries he says he received on a job in Elash.

George Neuner filed the lawsuit April 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against DCL Fabrication Inc.

Neuner says he was working for Kane Fire Protection Inc. on a pipefitting job at Principia College in Elsah in April 2010. He says DCL Fabrication, based in Bridgeton, Mo., contracted with Kane Fire Protection and made a delivery to the job site.

During that delivery, Neuner says he was asked to help maneuver a trailer so that it could be lifted back onto the DCL Fabrication delivery truck. While Neuner was attempting to help, "the trailer bounced back off the truck and crashed onto plaintiff's face and head," the complaint reads. He says he "suffered extensive bleeding and disfigurement."

Neuner accuses DCL Fabrication of negligence for allegedly failing to provide a safe working environment, failing to ensure the trailer could be operated safely and failing to avoid permanently injuring Neuner. He is asking for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, permanent pain, mental anguish and disfigurement.

Attorney Shaun M. Lieser of St. Louis is representing Neuner.
