A woman is suing Eckert's after allegedly tripping on a cobblestone path leading into the parking lot.
Trecia Lash filed the complaint against Eckert's Inc. on March 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Lash says the alleged injury happened in October 2010 as she was crossing a cobblestone path to enter the Eckert's parking lot. Lash says the stones had purposefully been laid in mulch to provide a walkway for customers.
Lash says she tripped when she caught her foot on a section of one cobblestone that was raised. She says the fall caused her to badly injure her knee.
Because of the fall, Lash says she has permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement. She is asking to be awarded more than $75,000 to compensate for pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.
Attorney Thomas Q. Keefe Jr. of Belleville is representing Lash.
