An Edwardsville bank has filed suit against the man who it claims failed to repay it more than $50,000.
The Bank of Edwardsville alleges it lent defendant James F. Strieter $60,000 on Aug. 17, 2006. Later, Strieter executed a change in terms agreement in which he promised to repay the full balance by Aug. 17, 2010, according to the complaint filed March 21 in Madison County Circuit Court.
However, Strieter has failed to repay the money and owes the bank $59,237.90, the suit states.
In addition to the money the bank says it is owed, it is seeking attorney's fees and costs.
Donald L. Metzger of Metzger Law Offices in Edwardsville will be representing him.
