Alton woman seeks appointment as administrator; Claims only asset is potential wrongful death suit

Darr

An Alton woman is asking to be appointed special administrator of her deceased husband's estate in a possible wrongful death lawsuit.

Mary Wallace, as Special Administrator of the Estate of Richard C. Wallace, filed a petition for Letters of Special Administration against Leisure World Health Club Inc. March 12 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Wallace says her husband died in October 2010 while a patient at Alton Rehabilitation. She claims no probate estate has been opened and the only asset of the deceased is a potential claim of wrongful death. She lists Richard's four children, including herself, as the surviving next of kin.

Attorney Lanny Darr of Alton's Schrempf, Kelly, Napp & Darr law firm are representing Wallace.
