Belleville Wendy's sued over woman's parking lot injuries

A woman who allegedly tripped over a curb is suing the Belleville fast food restaurant she says is to blame for her injuries.

Daisy E. Crunk filed a lawsuit against Wendy's International Inc. and Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers of New York Inc. on March 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Crunk says her injuries happened while visiting the Wendy's on Green Mount Commons Drive in Belleville in March 2010. As she made her way toward the fast food restaurant, Crunk says she stepped over a curb, tripped and fell.

Crunk accuses Wendy's International and Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers of negligence for failing to properly maintain the parking lot in order to ensure there were no obstructions.

As a result of her fall in the parking lot, Crunk says she hurt her nose and foot and broke her wrist. She says she has experienced pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, lost wages and reduced earning capacity.

Crunk is asking to be awarded more than $200,000 in damages.

Attorneys Andrew G. Toennies of St. Louis and Thomas G. Kemper of Granity City are representing her.
