A St. Clair County couple is accused of not paying back money they borrowed from a bank.
Springleaf Financial Services of Illinois Inc., formerly known as American General Finance of Illinois Inc., filed a lawsuit Feb. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lawrence L. and Charlotte J. Hurst.
According to the petition, the Hursts borrowed money from Springleaf Financial Services on two separate occasions, totaling more than $95,000. The bank alleges, despite demands for immediate repayment, the Hursts have failed to pay the money back as agreed when they took out the loans.
Springleaf Financial Services asks for a judgment ordering the Hursts to pay the outstanding loan amount of more than $95,000 and courts costs.
The bank is represented by attorney Gerard A. Nieters of O'Fallon.
