Wells Fargo Bank claims a St. Clair County man failed to repay more than $50,000 he allegedly owes the lender.
Wells Fargo Bank filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 against Marcella L. Rodgers in St. Clair County Circuit Court in an effort to force repayment of a past due loan.
Wells Fargo claims extended a line of credit of more than $44,000 to Rodgers in October 2003. The bank says it sent Rodgers monthly statements that indicated the current balance due and the required monthly payment.
However, Wells Fargo alleges that while Rodgers did make occasional payments toward his balance, he hasn't made a payment each month and has fallen behind. Wells Fargo contends Rodgers owes the remaining balance plus interest, which the lender says totals more than $52,000.
Wells Fargo accuses Rodgers of breach of contract and asks for a judgement of the total owed plus court costs.
Attorney Adam T. Pellizzari of Chicago is representing Wells Fargo.
