Accident near St. Clair Square is subject of suit

A St. Clair County woman is suing the driver of a car that allegedly crashed into her while she was driving in Fairview Heights.

Tina Maciejewski filed the lawsuit Feb. 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jeffrey Hopfer and Cottingham Butler Inc.

According to the complaint, Maciejewski was driving "in the area of St. Clair Square near its intersection with Market Place." Maciejewski claims Hopfer, who was employed by Cottingham Bulter and driving his work vehicle, crashed into her. She says she was seriously hurt in the crash.

Maciejewski accuses Cottingham Butler and Hopfer of negligence and is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court fees.

She is represented by attorney Thomas G. Kemper of Granite City.
