Rear-end accident West Boulevard causes injuries, suit claims

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.

Cynthia K. Klein-Webb claims she was driving south on West Boulevard near its intersection with Crest Haven Drive in Belleville on Dec. 6 when she stopped for traffic. Defendant Jasmine M. Anthony, who was driving in the same direction, failed to slow down and struck the rear of Klein-Webb's vehicle, according to the complaint filed Jan. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Because of the collision, Klein-Webb sustained injuries and a permanent disability and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Anthony negligently drove too fast, drove too closely to the back of Klein-Webb's vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to stop or slow down to avoid a collision, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Klein-Webb is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Brad L. Badgley of Belleville will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-28.
