Casino Queen sued over customer's slip on bathroom floor

An East St. Louis casino is being sued after one of its customers allegedly slipped on a wet floor in the restroom.

Donna Coleman filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 against Casino Queen Inc. in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Coleman was visiting the South Front Street casino in May 2011. Coleman says while she was leaving a stall in the women's restroom she slipped on a puddle of water and fell to the floor. She accuses the casino of negligence for failing to keep the restroom floor safe or warn customers of its danger.

Coleman asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs.

She is represented by attorney Stephan C. Buser of Columbia.
