A Madison County man alleges he sustained severe injuries after a driver failed to obey a red light and struck his vehicle.
Brian L. and Connie Farmer filed a lawsuit Jan. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Dennis G. Timmerman and Climate Company.
The Farmers allege Brian Farmer stopped at a light facing east on Koepfli Road at its intersection with Route 143 in Highland on Dec. 13 when Timmerman, who drove a vehicle for Climate Company, failed to obey a red light and struck the Farmers' vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Brian Farmer incurred medical costs, lost wages and suffered impairment, according to the complaint. In addition, he experienced great pain and suffering, the suit states.
Connie Farmer claims she lost her husband's support and services because of the collision.
The Farmers blame Timmerman for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to obey a traffic control device, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in a reckless manner and drove too fast, the complaint says.
In their complaint, the Farmers seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
Brian M. Wendler of Wendler Law in Edwardsville will be representing them.
