West Alton accident causes injuries, suit says

A Madison County woman is accused of pulling out in front of another car and causing a crash in West Alton.

Rebecca Sarich filed a lawsuit Jan. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court against Sherry Williams.

Sarich says she was driving a Hyundai Accent north on U.S. Highway 67 in September 2010. As she approached the intersection of CRD Red School Road, Sarich claims Williams crashed into her. Williams was driving east on Red School Road and allegedly drove across the highway, failing to yield to Sarich. Sarich claims Williams either ran the stop sign on Red School Road or failed to properly yield the right-of-way.

Sarich accuses Williams of negligence for allegedly causing the crash that she says left her with seroius injuries. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages to cover medical expenses and court costs.

Attorney Thomas O. Falb of the Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson law firm in Alton is representing Sarich.
