ESL Election Board referendum showdown Jan. 17

To the Editor:

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 9 a.m. in Room 407 of the St. Clair County Courthouse, the Belleville law firm of Kurowski & Shultz will oppose a petition to place a referendum on the East St. Louis ballot to accept or reject the City Election Law of 1885. Circuit Judge Stephen McGlynn will preside.

They certainly cannot expect to use the flawed information from the East St. Louis Board of Elections to support a legal action in an actual court of law.

Please join me on Tuesday to witness the legal circus that will be put on by attorney John Hipskind on behalf of Kurowski, Barnum, Bailey & Shultz, the East St. Louis Board of Elections, County Board Chairman Mark Kern, State Rep. Eddie Jackson and East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks.
