Father of murder victim sues men accused of crime

Cueto

The father of a recently deceased man seeks an unspecified amount of money from two men who he claims murdered his son.

Fritz Nemsky filed a lawsuit Dec. 7 in Madison County Circuit Court against Vincent Blue and Javeon Hawkins.

In his complaint, Fritz Nemsky alleges Blue and Hawkins shot and killed his son, Stephen Nemsky, on Dec. 10, 2009.

Blue and Hawkins were arrested on murder charges and face trials next month.

The murder occurred after Stephen Nemsky agreed to meet Hawkins and Blue in the 4100 block of Division Street in Granite City.

"Stephen Nemsky and the Defendants were sitting in Nemsky's car when one or both defendants produced a gun and robbed Nemsky," the suit states. "Before leaving, one or both Defendants willfully and intentionally shot Stephen Nemsky multiple times with said gun."

Stephen Nemsky died from the injuries he sustained in the attack, according to the complaint.

Because of his son's death, Fritz Nemsky lost his companionship and society and suffered grief, sorrow and mental anguish, the complaint says.

In his two-count complaint, Fritz Nemsky seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum limits of Madison County Circuit Court.

Christopher Cueto and Michael Gras of the Law Office of Christopher Cueto in Belleville will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-1309.
