A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against a construction company after she claims she fell on mud in the driveway of a recently constructed home.
Crystal J. Blackmon claims she was looking at a newly constructed home in Smithton built by defendant D & F Contracting when she slipped and fell on mud-covered pavement on March 21, 2010.
Because of her fall, Blackmon became seriously and severely injured, incurred medical costs and experienced great pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint filed Nov. 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
She blames D & F for causing her fall, saying the construction company negligently failed to maintain the driveway, failed to warn her of the dangerous condition, failed to prevent the mud and debris from accumulating on the driveway and failed to clean the mess.
In her complaint, Blackmon is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
