I-270 crash is subject of Madison County suit

Darr

A Granite City man is accused of crashing into another driver's vehicle as he tried to merge into traffic on a St. Louis interstate.

Ralph Hall filed a lawsuit Nov. 17 against Daniel Trotts in Madison County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Hall was driving east on Interstate 270 in St. Louis in March. As he passed the entrance ramp at Riverview, Hall says Trotts attempted to merge onto the highway and crashed into him.

Hall says he was hurt in the collision and required extensive medical treatment. He claims the injuries have kept him from participating in the same activities he enjoyed prior to the crash.

Hall accuses Trotts of negligence for failing to avoid the collision. He is asking to be paid more than $50,000 in damages to compensate for medical expenses and court fees.

Attorney Lanny Darr, of Alton's Schrempf, Kelly, Napp & Darr law firm, represents Hall.
