Nameoki Road accident causes injuries, suit says

A man claims he sustained head and back injuries after a driver rear-ended his vehicle.

Armand Kachigian filed a lawsuit Nov. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against Michelle Vesci.

In his complaint Kachigian claims he drove north on Johnson Road at its intersection with Nameoki Road in Granite City on Nov. 20, 2009, when he slowed to make a left-hand turn on Nameoki Road. Vesci, who was driving behind him, failed to control her speed and rear-ended his vehicle.

In addition to his injuires, Kachigian suffered great pain, mental anguish and disability and lost his normal life, according to the complaint. In addition, he incurred medical costs and property damages, the suit states.

Kachigian blames Vesci for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to brake to avoid a collision, failed to sound her horn in time to warn the plaintiff and failed to yield at an intersection.

Kachigian seeks a judgment against Vesci for a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Michael P. Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb and Glisson in Alton will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-1229.
