A woman has filed suit against the owners of a Belleville building where she claims she fell in a parking lot.
Pamela S. Kronenberger claims she was crossing a parking lot at the Dollar Tree in Belleville Crossing on April 3, 2010, after leaving the store. As she was walking, however, Kronenberger fell because of an unspecified hazard on the parking lot, according to the complaint filed Oct. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Due to her fall, Kronenberger sustained a serious and permanent injury to her right shoulder and suffered great pain and mental anguish, the suit states. In addition, she lost large sums because of her inability to pursue her normal occupation, experienced disability and disfigurement and incurred medical costs, the complaint says.
Kronenberger blames the owners, designers and constructors of the building for causing her fall, saying they negligently failed to maintain the building's parking lot and ramps, failed to warn her of the dangerous condition and failed to remedy the dangerous condition, among other negligent acts.
In her complaint, Kronenberger names Impact Strategies, The Hinrichs Group, SM Properties 2000, TDG Belleville Crossing, The Desco Group and Nova Group as defendants.
She is seeking a judgment of more than $300,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Gregory M. Skinner of Belleville and Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin in Belleville.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-612.
