A realty company has filed suit against the construction consultant that it claims failed to pay rent in accordance with its lease agreement.
Noble-Vollmar Realty claims it leased office space to defendant Lester Petty doing business as Lester Petty and Associates beginning on Jan. 29, 2007.
The lease agreement provided that Lester Petty and Associates would rent the space for $1,501 for the first 12 months. After the initial 12-month period, Lester Petty and Associates would have the opportunity to extend its lease for one year or continue on a month-to-month basis, according to the complaint filed Nov. 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Since the initial agreement, however, Lester Perry and Associates has breached the lease agreement by failing to pay $83,703 due to Noble-Vollmar Realty, the suit states.
In addition to the money it says Lester Perry and Associates owes it, Noble-Vollmar Realty is seeking costs and attorney's fees.
Blake G. Meinders of Belleville will be representing it.
