A woman claims she suffered great pain and mental anguish after a driver rear-ended her vehicle.
Rebecca Wells filed a lawsuit Nov. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Richard K. Connolly and Enterprise Leasing Co.
In her complaint, Wells alleges she drove a 2002 Chevrolet extended S10 pickup on Dec. 14, 2009, when she stopped in the right-hand lane of Highway 159 in Fairview Heights. As Wells waited for a traffic light, Connolly, who drove a vehicle owned by Enterprise, struck her vehicle from behind, according to the complaint.
Because of the accident, Wells incurred medical costs and has been unable to carry on her usual activities, the suit states.
Wells blames Connolly for causing the collision, saying he negligently drove too fast and failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.
In her two-count complaint, Wells seeks a judgment of more than $100,000.
Morgan Scroggins of Scroggins Law Office in Granite City will be representing her.
