The National Collegiate Student Loan trust claims a St. Clair County woman owes it more than $70,000 for student loans she failed to repay.
The trust filed a lawsuit Oct. 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brenda Moore.
In its complaint, the National Collegiate Student Loan trust alleges it lent Moore money on four different occasions between June 30, 2003, and Dec. 11, 2005. Altogether, it lent Moore $52,000, according to the complaint.
Including interest and unpaid principal, Moore's debt has ballooned to a total of $79,973.83, the suit states.
In addition to the money it claims Moore owes it, the National Collegiate Student Loan trust seeks attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Brad Pierce of Kramer and Frank in St. Louis will be representing it.
