The owners of a Waterloo McDonald's are accused of causing a woman to hurt herself while walking on the restaurant's sidewalk.
Tina M. Eames filed a lawsuit Oct. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against McDonald's Corporation and Burris Management, doing business as McDonald's Restaurant.
Eames says she was walking on the west side of the North Market Street McDonald's on Aug. 14 when she tripped on an uneven section of concrete in the sidewalk. Eames claims she hurt her left ankle and foot when she fell.
Eames accuses the owners of the fast food restaurant of negligence for allegedly failing to fix the damaged walkway and for allegedly failing to warn pedestrians of the fall danger. She is asking for more than $100,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court costs.
Attorney Stephen C. Buser of Columbia is representing Eames.
