A Swansea woman is suing the driver of the car she says rear-ended her while she was driving in Fairview Heights.
Debora K. Yearian filed a lawsuit Oct. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Alyssa Carmichael.
According to the complaint, Yearian was driving south on Route 159 in November 2009. As she neared the intersection of Ashland, Yearian says she was hit from behind by Carmichael. Yearian alleges the impact of that crash caused serious injuries that required extensive medical care to treat.
Yearian is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs.
