A Madison County man is suing a Godfrey bar and the man he says attacked him there.
Clayton Marquis filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against Robert Everage, Scot A. Roper and the Regal Beagle.
Marquis says he was a customer at the Regal Beagle on Godfrey Road on April 27 when he was allegedly knocked to the ground violently by Everage. Marquis says he received serious injuries to his head during the the alleged attack.
Marquis alleges Everage was too drunk to understand his actions and accuses the Regal Beagle of violating Illinois' Dram Shop Act by allowing the patron to be consume too much alcohol in the establishment.
Marquis is asking for more than $150,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court costs.
