A Belleville law firm has filed suit against the O'Fallon company that it claims failed to pay it more than $50,000 for legal work it performed.
Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale claim defendant H&L Builders hired it to perform legal services on Builders' behalf.
According to the complaint filed Sept. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, the law firm performed the work, but failed to receive the $51,061.64 owed to it.
"Plaintiff has made demand upon Defendant for payment, but payment has been refused," the suit states.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, the law firm seeks interest at 9 percent per annum and court costs.
Tammy F. Wool of Kramer and Frank in St. Louis will be representing it.
