The parents of a St. Clair County woman are suing two nursing homes after the facilities allegedly neglected their daughter.
Catalina D. Martinez and Lawrence Bulliner, on behalf of Latica T. Bulliner, filed the lawsuit Aug. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Glenshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre Ltd. and its owners, Sidney Glenner and Barry M. Ray. Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center LLC, Helia South Belt Healthcare and Steven Miller are also named as defendants.
According to the complaint, Latica Bulliner was a resident of Glenshire Nursing an Rehabilitation Centre, in Richton Park, from August 2009 through October 2009 and a resident of Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, in Belleville, from October 2009 to present. At both facilities, Bulliner's parents allege their daughter was neglected to the point where she developed bedsores, bruises and lost the use of her hands.
Bulliner and Martinez accuse Glenshire Nursing and Rehabilitation, Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing and their respective owners of violating Illinois' Nursing Home Care Act by failing to properly care for the woman while she was in the companies' care. They seek more than $300,000 in damages for medical costs and court fees.
Attorney Gary A. Mack is representing Bulliner and Martinez.They ask for a jury trial.
