Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla will hear all pending motions in a suit brought by a former law associate against the firm run by the late Lance Mallon and his successors.
The hearing set in plaintiff Dawna Hale's case is set at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 30.
In a suit filed earlier this year, Hale claims she wasn't properly paid for work she did during Mallon's illness. Mallon died Nov. 11 following a battle with lung cancer.
A previously scheduled motion hearing set July 22 was continued due to the absence defense attorney Thomas Keefe, Jr.
Hale is suing Jeanette Mallon, the representative of Lance Mallon's estate, Keith Short, Mallon & Short, the successor to Lance Mallon's previous law firm, Jennifer Rushton, and Mark Goldenberg.
She is seeking damages in excess of $40,000 and other relief.
Several of the defendants have moves pending to dismiss Hale's claims against them.
Hale has also filed to intervene in Mallon's probate case but that move is on hold pending the outcome of the civil suit.
John Dale Stobbs represents Hale.
Keefe represents Short, Rushton, and the Mallon & Short firm.
