A man riding a bus from St. Clair County to Missouri says he was hurt when the bus driver stopped too quickly.
Kenneth Parmeley filed a lawsuit July 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Bi-State Development Agency, doing business as Metro.
Parmeley says he boarded a bus in St. Clair County in November 2010. On his way to Missouri, Parmeley says the driver stopped abruptly, causing him to be thrown forward. He says the sudden and violent movement caused him to be seriously injured.
Parmeley accuses Metro of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.
He is represented by attorney Kevin Boyne of Belleville.
