A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.
Darla Richardson claims she was driving south on South Green Mount Road near Mascoutah Avenue in St. Clair County on Sept. 15, 2009, when Nichole Guerrero, who was driving on the same road, rear-ended her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Richardson sustained injuries to her back, neck and left shoulder and suffered great physical pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint filed July 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, her body functions were greatly impaired and she incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
Guerrero negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to warn of her impending approach and collided with the rear of Richardson's vehicle, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Richardson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Shaun M. Falvey of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis will be representing her.
