A man claims he suffered injuries to his hand and elbow after a driver pulled from a driveway to the road in front of him.
Robert J. House filed a lawsuit July 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Todd D. Nicholson.
In his complaint, House claims he drove north on Bluffside Road in Sugarloaf on Aug. 23, 2009, at about 6:35 a.m. when Nicholson, who was pulling out of his driveway at 6956 Bluffside Road at the same time, collided with his vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, House became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and suffered injuries to his left hand and low back, according to the complaint. He also incurred medical costs, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and lost his future earning capacity, the suit states.
In his complaint, House blames Nicholson for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to stop before entering the road and drove a vehicle without adequate brakes.
In his complaint, House seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
John H. Hustava of Collinsville will be representing him.
