A Fairview Heights Macy's customer claims she was permanently injured when her foot came into contact with a raised concrete walkway near a store entrance.
Janice Goff filed suit against the retailer July 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. She claims the incident occurred Jan. 1 at 8 p.m.
"Plaintiff has been unable to follow her gainful occupation to the extent she otherwise would have enjoyed as a result of the said injuries," the complaint states.
Among other things, Goff claims Macy's failed to inspect the area in question, failed to warn her of the condition and failed to mark or set off the area.
Goff is represented by Sam C. Mitchell of West Frankfort.
