A woman claims she was attacked by a vicious pit bull while visiting her son's Cahokia residence.
Nancy Yon filed suit against Marcus Acoff and Fannie Acoff on July 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Yon claims the dog came onto her son's property at 2405 Donna Drive without permission and attacked her without provocation.
According to the lawsuit, the dog is owned by her son's neighbor, Melvin Acoff, the son of the named defendants. Melvin Acoff resides at 2407 Donna Drive, the suit states.
"That Defendants assisted in controlling and caring for the pit bull, requiring a leash at all times, and assisting with the feeding and maintenance of the dog," the suit states.
Yon claims she sustained serious and permanent injuries as a result of the alleged attack.
She seeks damages under the Illinois Animal Control Act.
Yon is represented by Michael P. Glisson of Alton.
