The mother of a South Roxana girl is suing the driver of the car that allegedly crashed into a car her daughter was riding in.
Melissa McDaniel, on behalf of her minor daughter, filed the lawsuit against Ashely B. Buehler July 19 in Madison County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, McDaniel's daughter was a passenger in a car driven by Robert Patterson in September 2010. McDaniel says, at the same time, Buehler was driving east on Madison Avenue in Wood River. At the intersection of 9th Street, Buehler allegedly failed to stop at the red light and crashed into Patterson's car.
McDaniel says her daughter was injured in the crash and contends Buehler was negligent for allowing it to happen. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills and court costs.
Attorney Lanny Darr of Alton is representing McDaniel.
