Mascoutah woman sues boyfriend over beating

A Mascoutah woman wants her live-in boyfriend to pay $50,000 after he allegedly beat her.

Philomena Chiappetta filed a lawsuit against James O. Seyer July 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Chiappetta claims Seyer hit her several times and threw her over a table in their Clinton County Line Road home in July 2010. She alleges he kicked her while she was on the ground. Chiappetta says Seyer pleaded guilty to domestic battery in March.

Chiappetta seeks more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs. She is represented by attorney Michael L. McGlynn, of Belleville.
