A woman claims she lost her job after three of her managers conspired to fire her following her complaint of sexual harassment against one of them.
Crystal Nester filed a lawsuit June 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Weiss Management Group, The Lincoln Home, Daniel Weiss, Kay Ross and Christopher Rayborn.
In her complaint, Nester alleges Ross repeatedly fondled her and made lewd remarks to her, causing Nester to inform Weiss of the sexual harassment.
Following Nester's complaint to Weiss, he, Ross and Nester's new immediate supervisor, Rayborn, allegedly conspired against Nester to give her poor employee evaluations, according to the complaint.
Under the pretext of Nester's poor employee evaluations, Weiss Management Group fired Nester, the suit states. In turn, she lost earnings and suffered mental anguish, the complaint says.
In her five-count complaint, Nester seeks compensatory damages of more than $250,000 and punitive damages of more than $250,000, plus costs.
Bruce N. Cook of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin in Belleville will be representing her.
