Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis is set to hold a pre-trial conference July 27 in a man's suit over injuries he allegedly suffered when his car was struck by a truck and trailer in Pontoon Beach and he was knocked to the ground while standing outside of it.
Callis is set to hold the pre-trial in the suit filed by plaintiff Gregory Argent at 9:30 a.m. July 27.
Argent is suing Jason Nichols for damages in excess of $50,000 per count and other relief.
Nichols denies that he was negligent in the February 2008 incident.
Callis entered an order July 15 denying a plaintiff's motion in limine that sought to bar the use of a past fall from a ladder and his medical history from the suit.
Argent claims that Nichols failed to take proper care to avoid the accident, was speeding, drove without maintaining his brakes and steering mechanism, and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
The plaintiff alleges that he injured his back, head, neck, right arm, hand and shoulder.
He claims that the crash caused his own vehicle to depreciate in value.
The case was previously assigned to Madison County Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder.
