Two people claim they sustained neck and head injuries after a driver struck their vehicle while attempting to turn at an intersection.
Rhonda Bragg and Demond Hines filed a lawsuit June 23 in Madison County Circuit Court against David Haggard.
Bragg and Hines claim Hines was driving them north on State Route 3 at its intersection with Missouri Avenue on March 20 when Haggard, who was turning east on Missouri Avenue from southbound State Route 3, struck their vehicle.
In addition to their injuries, Bragg and Hines endured pain and suffering and sustained disability, according to the complaint. They also incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
The plaintiffs blames Haggard for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, the complaint says.
In their two-count suit, Bragg and Hines seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
Grey Chatham of Belleville will be representing them.
