Madison County Circuit Judge Dennis Ruth is set to hold a pre-trial July 11 in a wrongful death suit filed against an Alton doctor and hospital.
The case was brought by Kimberly Collman on her own behalf and that of the estate of Mark Collman, her husband.
The trial is set for July 18 at 9 a.m.
Kimberly Collman is suing Dr. Shazia Rani Chaudhry, Alton Memorial Hospital, and BC Illinois Emergency Physicians LLP.
The plaintiff claims that Chaudhry failed to properly recognize the symptoms of a dissected aorta, failed to take a proper medical history and check x-rays, and failed to make a timely diagnosis of Mark Collman's condition when he came to the emergency room March 4, 2006.
As a result, Mark Collman died, his wife alleges.
Kimberly Collman is suing the hospital and BC Illinois as Chaudhry superiors.
The suit seeks damages in excess of $75,000 a count and other relief.
The case had been set for mediation in April.
Samantha Unsell represents the plaintiff.
Terese Drew represents the doctor and her practice.
Dede Zupanci represents the hospital.
The case is Madison case number 08-L-112.
