Former All About Eyes worker claims she was subjected to sexual harassment

A St. Clair County woman is suing her former employer saying she was fired for filing a sexual harassment complaint.

Leslie Ybarra filed the lawsuit June 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against HW Holdings LLC doing business as All About Eyes.

Ybarra says she worked for the Belleville eyewear store from December 2008 through May 2009 as store manager. During her employment Ybarra alleges she witnessed and was subjected to several incidents of sexual harassment from co-workers and the company's CEO. Those incidents include allegedly being asked to join sexual activities and being offered a pill that would make her "have sex all night."

Ybarra says she complained about the treatment and was subsequently fired in May 2009. She accuses HW Holdings for violating the Illinois Human Rights Act and asks for a judgment of more than $100,000 in damages for loss of income and court fees.

Attorney Paul M. Storment III of Belleville is representing Ybarra.
