A case management conference in a legal malpractice suit filed by Sara Buske against her former divorce attorneys is off.
According to the suit's docket sheet, the case management conference set Wednesday at 9 a.m. before Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis was canceled by agreement.
Sara Buske is suing the Springfield law firm of Feldman, Wasser, Draper & Cox for allegedly mishandling her 2008 divorce from former trucking magnate Thomas Buske.
The 2010 suit previously included claims of malpractice filed against accounting firm RSM McGladrey of St. Louis but those claims were dropped.
Sara Buske is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 per count and other relief.
The Feldman firm led by attorney Howard Feldman represented Sara Buske in the 2008 divorce.
Sara Buske filed for divorce eight days after a $203.8 million civil judgment was entered against Thomas Buske in Wisconsin.
S.C. Johnson and Sons Inc. sought the judgment claiming that Thomas Buske defrauded it using inflated invoices from his trucking companies.
S.C. Johnson also sought to intervene in the Madison County divorce.
The company alleged that the divorce was a scheme designed to hide assets owed under the Wisconsin judgment.
Eventually the parties settled in 2009.
Sara Buske filed suit a year later claiming that Feldman mishandled the divorce and cost her settlement money.
The most recent actions in the case came earlier this month when Callis granted a motion to compel directed against the Feldman firm and when the firm filed a motion asking Sara Buske to admit facts related to a pre-nuptial agreement.
Jarrod Beasley represents Sara Buske in the current case.
Al Pranaitis represents the law firm.
The case is Madison case number 10-L-1211.
