Driver sues over tailbone injuries in Route 140 accident

A Madison County woman claims she sustained neck, low back and tailbone injuries after a driver rear-ended her vehicle.

Shana N. Simburger filed a lawsuit June 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Kenneth A. Redmon.

In her complaint, Simburger claims she drove west on Illinois Route 140 when Redmon, who drove in the same direction, struck her vehicle on June 15, 2009, at about 5:17 p.m.

In addition to her injuries, Simburger claims she became hindered and prevented from attending to her usual duties and incurred medical costs because of the collision. In addition, she lost wages, according to the complaint.

Simburger blames Redmon for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep his vehicle under control and failed to keep a proper lookout.

In her complaint, Simburger seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-533.
