A St. Clair County woman is accusing doctors and a hospital of causing her to suffer significant brain damage.
Jacqueline Smith filed a lawsuit June 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Muddasani V. Reddy, Dr. Syed Hussain and Touchette Regional Hospital.
According to the complaint, Smith was a patient of Dr. Reddy and Dr. Hussain at the Touchette Regional Hospital in June 2010. Smith alleges the physicians did not monitor her neurological condition appropriately and failed to treat her condition as needed.
Smith says she was left with several injuries, including significant brain damage, as a result of the doctors' and hospital's alleged negligent care.
Smith is asking for more than $150,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs.
She is represented by attorneys J. Michael Weilmuenster and Nathaniel O. Brown of Belleville.
