Worden accident case set for trial Monday

Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis is scheduled to open the trial of a Worden accident suit Monday.

The trial in a case brought by Crystal Wiegand against Chelsea Griffing is set to begin at 9 a.m., according to the case's docket sheet.

Crystal Wiegand filed suit against Griffing in 2007 following a December 2006 accident in which she claims Griffing caused by failing to display a parking lot while her vehicle was standing on a highway, failing to have working tail lights and failing to give warning that her car was disabled.

The suit was consolidated with another suit filed against Griffing by plaintiff Tera Wiegand in January.

The suit seeks damages in excess of $50,000 and other relief.

The plaintiffs filed a notice June 3 requesting Chelsea Griffing's presence at the June 13 trial or on any date to which the trial is continued.

It is unclear what relationship may exist between the two Wiegands.

Matthew Marlen represents Crystal Wiegand. Stephen Mudge is co-counsel.

Matthew Glenn represents Griffing.

Del Goldenhersh represents Tera Wiegand.

The case is Madison case number 07-L-009.
