A May 25 settlement status hearing has been pushed back to late June in a woman's suit over injuries she suffered when a group of teenagers ran into her in a Granite City park.
Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis pushed back the hearing in the case brought by Opal Boyett to June 29 at 9 a.m.
Details of the settlement reached between Boyett and the Granite City Community Unit School District #9 and the Granite City park district are not available.
Boyett alleges that she was injured when a group of teenage boys who played on school district soccer team ran into her while she was walking in a city park in 2004.
The then-77 year-old Boyett claims the boys ran into her and caused injuries to her left elbow, head and other parts of her body.
She names Derrick Wente, Kyle McGovern, Daniel Fowler, Kevin Staples, Ryan Roberts, Andrew Briner, Aaron Streid, Nicholas Costillo, Alexander Mossman, Brent Lyons, Dennis Bistro, John Ritchie, Bradley Peach, Erik Klove, Ian Nespit and Barry Grote as defendants in addition to the school and park district.
Most of defendants except Wente, Grote, the school district, and park district were dropped from the case by the time Boyett filed her fourth amended complaint in October 2006.
Boyett's case settled in March.
Callis had been set to hear the status of the settlement May 25. She took over the case when Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack retired last year.
Bob Perica represents the plaintiff. Timothy Hulla had represented her previously.
Donald Ohl represents the school district.
The other defendants in the case do not have counsel listed.
The case is Madison case number 05-L-618.
