A St. Clair County nameplate manufacturer claims an Ohio data company owes more than $175,000 for work already completed.
Paddock Industries Inc. filed a lawsuit May 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Pinnacle Systems LLC, doing business as SCI Pinnacle. Suarez Corporation Industries, the company that bought SCI Pinnacle, is also named as a defendant.
According to the petition,in April 2010 Paddock agreed to make an overlay for a remote control Pinnacle was building. two months later, Paddock claims Pinnacle accepted the overlay work as completed and agreed to a price of more than $177,000 for the job.
Paddock alleges Pinnacle has refused to pay the contracted amount and is suing for breach of contract. Paddock says Suarez is liable for the amount since it assumed all of Pinnacle's debt after buying the company.
Paddock is asking to be paid the full amount owed plus interest and court costs.
Attorney Stephen R. Clark of Belleville is representing Paddock.
